So The Lady In AFP Ad Who Claims Her Insurance Will Be Unaffordable Turns Out Will Be Getting a Break from Obamacare

Above the opposite technique of Night for Day according to the photograper created by overexposing a nighttime vista, I assume.  (Attribution at bottom of post)

It reminds me of the old "day for night" technique.  You film during the day and then just color everything with shades of dark gray. (Yes, yes,  as explained in FrancoisTruffaut's film of the same name).

I hope Ms Boostra got a lot of money from the brothers who are wealthier than the family of the Sultan of Brunei, because she has kinda trashed her husband's political career that she apparently relies on for money and contacts.  I don't think the Koch brothers will forget that anytime soon.

Excerpt Huffington  Post:
Americans for Prosperity, the conservative advocacy group backed by the Koch brothers, is running Obamacare attack ads featuring a cancer patient who claimed her treatments were "unaffordable" under the new health care law. On Monday, The Detroit News reported that the patient will actually save more than $1,000 a year.
Julie Boonstra says in the anti-Obamacare ad that she was diagnosed with leukemia five years ago, and her health care plan was canceled when Obamacare went into effect.
"Now, the out-of-pocket costs are so high, it's unaffordable," she said.
Before her plan was canceled, Boonstra was paying a $1,100 monthly premium. That's $13,200 a year, without adding out-of-pocket expenses like co-pays and prescription drugs. But under her new plan, the Blue Cross Premier Gold, Boonstra's premiums are down to $571 a month, and out-of-pocket costs are capped at $5,100. That's a maximum annual expense of $11,952 a year.
...
And more on Boonstra:
Boonstra told The Detroit News she had never been politically active before joining the anti-Obamacare campaign. The newspaper reported her ex-husband, Mark Boonstra, had served as chair of the Washtenaw County GOP, and was appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder (R) to the Michigan Court of Appeals in 2012.
Was that fair?  Should Ms Julie Boonstra be able to deny relationship to earning money pushing the lies of the right without be shown up by the truth?

I'm sure there's a Supreme Court case there somewhere.

GOP Food Stamp Cut Puts Military Families in its Crosshairs

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
Really!

One major group that will be harmed by SNAP reductions are families of military personnel.

Meanwhile GOP House members have ordered up meals that cost up to $166 for one person on the public tab.

Tell those douche bags to stop taking from our military and other poor families or start looking for a job they can do right starting in 2015.

How to contact your congress members without a lot a spam? See this post (below the report about Governor Rick Scott's message to President Obama).

What Will Happen if We Really Do Breach the Debt Ceiling Through Republican Intransigence

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
What Ezra Klein assumes you know, and is actually even admitted in this video  by the Arizona Congressman (who thinks he's pulling the wool over our eyes), welfare now is a a non issue.  It has mostly disappeared.  What they are really going after now is your Social Security savings.
Republicans and many media people call them entitlements, something to which you think you're entitled, but didn't earn, like an inheritance (which strangely they claim is a holy devt to the children of the wealthy.)

But we showed that you earn 20 years of retirement by the money that you alone paid into the Social Security system, and employers payments into the Social Security system for employees boosts that retirement to 40 years all prepaid.  Yet, Republicans want to permanently take away part of those savings which they call entitlements (ie gifts) and have carefully crafted their arguments so that it appears that seniors and working people would be supporting taking more from "welfare" which is virtually non-existant instead of supporting the theft of their own Social Security moneys which they have placed in charge of the government.

Even younger people, have already paid heavily into the system (read our report on how up to 15% of your income each year was paid into the SS & Medicare system -- calculate that out and learn how much of you money you would lose) and they will get a better deal than they are likely to do with greedy Wall Street managers taking care of that money (especially since employers are not likely to offer them matching savings compensations on the private market and financial firms are experts in stealing their investors' money which is why they can afford massive dumps of glitzy ads on cable and broadcast programs.  But hey, if you want to support billionaire GOP supporter bankers instead of your own retirement, go ahead and follow the Republicans to their entitlement free future.  Just remember them in their castles in Cabo while you're shivering on the streets of Detroit or wherever when you  get older.  Knowing they're laughing at you might help you survive another day.  Who can't appreciate a good joke?  Well, maybe those who are the butt of the joke, like we all are to the GOP.)

Again, the best way to make your Congress member do what you want is to contact them.  YOu can find their addresses (for DC and local offices), emails, fax and phone numbers at House.gov and Senate.gov.  For your specific House Representative you will need to know your valid registered address, including your zipcode and possibly the 4 number extension.  You can find your zip and extension at usps.com by clicking on  "Find a Zip-Code" which opens up a floating box where you can put your address information.  (Alternatively, click here to go to a full page dedicated to the same purpose.) For your Senators, I assume you remember which state you live in and can go from there.

Tell your Representative and your Senators through their staff, or via mail, or fax, that you will not find it acceptable that the 15% you've put into Social Security  through your and your employers' mandated contributions be disappeared, by law or by their defaulting on the debt the Congress already has agreed by vote to take on through tax cuts for millionaires in the Bush years, two unfunded wars during the Bush years and the financial mismanagement that led to a near depression which started during the Bush years, and that you know that the nation does better when the rich pay their fair share of taxes given the immense wealth they get from our nation than with the supply side tax cuts they want to give to their fat cat backers.  Tell them you will hold them personally responsible for the outcome of this new looming crisis, and protecting your Social Security funds.

Don't let them BS you about how Wall Street bankers will take care of your retirement for you.  Those people crashed our economy in 2008 and have shown they are adept at stealing from investors.  (Wall  Street banks are also responsible for  the crises in Greece and Spain that is dragging down the whole of Mid latitude and Southern Europe though GOP operatives and officials lie about that.  Scandinavian nations which offer high amounts of financial help for the poor and for seniors and a great public education to their younger citizens are doing surprisingly well, for the same reason that the Clinton economy did better than the supply side heavy and sputtering Reagan economy which really only had one upturn in mid to late 2004 allowing his re-election.)

And, yes, this is a new crisis brought on by GOP grandstanding which has even more power to crash our economy and keep it down than the Fiscal Cliff crisis they threatened the US with two weeks ago.  I'll apologize for Congress, but the GOP must bear their own blame for seeking to win the already decided 2012 election by forcing repeated crises.

Pennsylvania Your GOP Have Reduced You To 1.25/5ths of Of a Person

Congratulations Pennsylvania!  Each of your citizens are worth 1.25/5ths of a human in regards to having your say in our supposedly democratic federal government.  You can thank the GOP for that.

Remember how they consolidated control after they grabbed power in 2010 elections promising Job Jobs Jobs.  Their real goal was reducing your say in government, therefore giving their fat cat backers substantially more power over your lives than they are supposed to have.  All the wealthy have to do is dump money into the GOP coffers.

As we have seen, the GOP then decides what is good for America and for your state is to let the wealthy control everything through privatization, the destruction  of unions who protect workers, even offering partial support to non unionized employees through their existence.  ( I am not working for a union, nor am I in one.)  The GOP is also behind many laws that allow, even reward the outsourcing of our jobs.  Do you know that they even have passed laws that give tax cuts explicitly for outsourcing? The GOP now wants to take your Social Security money that you pay over 15% of your salary for each year, and reduce your payments so they don't have to force their backers to take fewer tax cuts on their incredible salaries to fix the budget, and so they can continue to spend more on wars.

To see what happened look to the left.  That is a map of the counties of Pennsylvania showing which went for Obama and which went for Romney with the usual colors.  The gray ones were too close to call.  I'm not sure if they are now or not.  That doesn't matter because counties do not get 1 vote each, like US House districts do.  Neither does the larger red area indicate more Republican support. Acres and mile do not vote, people do and the large populations in the blue areas went for Obama.

Out of 18 US House districts Democratic voters were highly packed into only 5, even though Obama and liberal leaning Jill Stein won 51.4% of votes for president while Mitt Romney and conservative leaning Gary Johnson won 47.7% of the presidential vote.  5 out of 18 seats equals .28 of the total available.  But we have to weight that with the fact that liberal presidential candidates won 1.099 times more votes than the conservative candidates for president so we divide the .28 by 1.099 and get .25 or 2.5 10ths or 1.25/5ths of a person.  Unfortunately that's a worse scenario than Louisiana.  YIKES!  And a lot worse than the 3/5ths of a person that slaves were considered before the Civil War.  I would consider a score of 4.5/5ths to be decently represented considering candidate variability", but 1.25/5ths of  a person is ridiculous.

Being a member or siding with the Republican party does not fix that scenario, since, if you can't change your mind and keep your rights, you don't have those rights, only the same number of rights as those who are most denied theirs.

That is why the Republicans are able to sell the rights of all the people of PA to the fat cats, and are working on the rights of the rest of us in the nation.

To the left here are the US House districts of Pennsylvania.  You can see some special Gerrymandering aspects from here.  Where counties are somewhat boxy utilitarian lines, for the House districts you get crazier shapes than a Kindergartener would draw (no disrespect for kindergartners -- I admire their unfettered imaginations, and have seen some drawings by them that put any artist out there to shame by how they capture the true essence of  their subject without the noise we usually consider to be "realistic"). At it's original site you can see that the PA 1st District and 7th District have areas that are completely separate from their main bodies or linked by a tiny corridor--that's a Gerrymandering tactic, and how about that crazy shape above on the right?  What is that, a flying dragon? Also,if you see the race results on that the blue dot on the left you will see that it is so heavily dense with Democratic voters that it drains three to four other districts of Democratic majorities, so Republicans win by small margins. Now if the districts were not crazy shapes already, you could say that is just the luck of the land.  But every one of those red districts is the type of meandering blob typical of  Gerrymandering to prevent certain groups from getting their rightful majority.

Can you rely on your state's court system to help you out, folks?  Probably not.

Ohio politicians tried taking their egregious Gerrymandered legislative districts through their legal system all the way up to their Supreme Court filled with Republicans except for one of their justices.  Guess what.  They were denied a redo, the decision coming down just days ago.  If they're smart they will start a referendum vote through petitions, and even a special election.  I'm betting that PA will need a state wide referendum, to get theirs changed as well.  You should work on the Gerrymandering of your state government too, and fix it all.

The right for your vote to be equally weighted is the foundation of democracy, and prevents warmongers from taking you or your children off to unnecessary war.  (A plan for a universal draft of males and females aged 18 to 35 was created in 2004 by the Selective Service System and still exists today, waiting for a trigger since SSS plans do not expire with the end of a presidency.) As we saw in 2003, wars are too easily cooked up by presidents and Congress flush with Gerrymandered districts.

Keep yourself and your children or grandchildren safe.  Fix your state government.  Demand the end to Gerrymandering for both state legislative and US House districts.  You may recall that Texas won the right from the US Supreme Court to redo their state's US House districts within two years after they had been set up.  (Remember Tom Delay's gambit and the Texas legislators who went into hiding?)  You can do it too, in an equitable manner.  California voted and forced our legislature out of the redistricting job market, handing it to a special balanced committee focused on good governance.

Start a state-wide referendum.  Statewide you have your power, as can be seen by the election of a senator in the same party as your presidential vote.  If you can't before then, get a Democratic governor for 2015. It's time to get on with it.  Or maybe make your shackles a nice fashion statement.  Until they drag you off to war.  (Israel could, with the help of the US House get the US involved in a disastrous war invading Iran after they destroy the world economy by attacking Iran's nuclear facilities as I have explained before, even if we have a Democratic president.  They continue to feed the press the same kind of pro war propaganda they used to get us into Iraq and which was then shown to be completely bogus. )

Many GOP Congressional Candidates More Extreme Than They've Been Letting On

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

These candidates really don't want what they wanted last year or at least the last time they talked to the press before they were outed as extreme.  Now they intend to force rape victims to bear children which possibly have the violent genes of their fathers.

What else are they and other GOP congressional candidates not telling us that they plan to do?

The extreme candidates known whether listed in video above or I've found from other sources are:

Ohio: Josh Mandel | Opponent: current US Senator Sherrod Brown

Indiana: Richard Mourdoch | Opponent: US Representative Joe Donnelly

North Dakota: Rick Berg | Opponent: Former ND Attorney General Heidi Heitkamp

Washington State: Michael Baumgartner | Opponent: US Senator Maria Cantwell

Michigan: Pete Hoekstra (remember the creepy, racist Super Bowl ad?) | Opponent: US Senator Debbie Stabenow

Pennsylvania: Tom Smith | Opponent: US Senator Bob Casey Jr.

Missouri: Todd Akin (like you didn’t know) | Democratic opponent US Senator Claire McCaskill (Okay we knew about this one after he outed himself to a right wing host a few weeks ago.)

Nebraska: Deb Fischer | Opponent Former US Senator Bob Kerrey

Maine: John MacGovern | Imp opponents: Cynthia Dill (This is the race in which popular former governor Angus King is running) King would be an acceptable alternative to McGovern.

Texas: Ted Cruz | Opponent: Former State Representative Paul Sadler

New York:  Wendy Long | Opponent: US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand

West Virginia: John Raese | Opponent: US Senator Joe Manchin

Virginia: George Allen | Opponent: Former VA Governor Tim Kaine

Arizona: Jeff Flake | Opponent: 17th Surgeon General of US 2002-2008 Richard Carmona

The above candidates are from the video above or one's that have explicitly said they favor a "personhood" amendment that I've found, which,  no matter why they say they do is actually about preventing the use of The Pill, IUDs and other effective means of preventing pregnancy, and has been rejected in every state into which it was put to a vote by the public.  Be careful though, your state legislature may pass such a law if you vote for Republicans.  We will look state by state at various senate races (one would think that Maddow;'s interns could have looked up all the extreme candidates) and try to get them online tomorrow.  I didn't realize until we found George Allen was a "personhood" supporter than Maddow might not have all of them in the video.

There are other opponents in the races, but only Angus King has a chance of winning a third party seat and therefore stopping extremist MacGovern from taking office. Obviously the others can also be looked up by search engine.

I don’t know if this list has all the extremists on it. This appears to be new orders from their billionaire backers, since these GOP candidates are all moving to take away womens' rights in lock step with many GOP controlled state legislatures.  Make sure you know if your candidates support you and those you care about have a right to control your or their bodies.  Otherwise don't vote for the GOP.

For one Jeff Flake running for Senate in Arizona is absolutely refusing to say what he believes regarding a woman's choice.  But since the billionaires and the big SuperPACs are sending him big bucks, one can assume the worst.  We have found that Jeff Flake was one of only two members of the House of Representatives to vote against extending breast cancer protection for women.

There are only two things for which the billionaires can want too many babies born.  To flood the job market and make work a slave-like existence or multiple, even continuous, wars.  There is evidence that at least the last reason is actually on the agenda of the GOP and their billionaires.  War is supposed to bring cheap resources and there are a lot of third world nations that have those valuable minerals that are hard to find.  But we saw how that worked out in Iraq.  5000 Americans dead and we lost, though the oil companies have been invited to share in the oil extraction so they think they won.

Now the military is basically broken, and a universal draft was set up in 2004 by the Selective Service System.  That draft is just waiting for a "trigger".  SSS decisions do not expire when a president steps down, and that plan is still there, on hold, until the right president and Congress gets into power..  In fact, a military man and a military journalist (neither connected to the current administration) again recommended one be started,  just this last summer.  Add to that fact, Israel wants us to invade Iran for them.  And Iran has a military 10x a strong as Iraq's was in 2003, and was never forced to give up their chemical and biological weapons.  Those will be waiting for our draftees. (After all it will take 18 years for all those forced births to grow into the desired massive forced baby army.)

The terms of the Universal Draft are males and females age 18-34, with no exemptions for school, marriage, children, etc.  People with computers skills, doctors, and other specialties, like foreign languages could be drafted at any age.

#BTW, these candidates did not out themselves, but were forced to do it or we can assume from some of the things they say.  Any GOP candidate may be similarly extreme since it appears to be what their billionaire backers want for payback for all the Citizens United $$ they've dropped on them.

## An earlier version of this got Deb Fischer's state wrong.  (I was writing this too late at night.  My friends reminded me today about that.)  My apologies.

The Truth About Social Security That Many Don't Want You to Know

Ironic?:

You Pay over 15% of your Salary into the Social Security/Medicare System Every Year.

But:

Republicans Call It an "Entitlement", Implying You Feel "Entitled" to Other People's Property.

Explanation: As a self-employed individual I pay both sides of the tax towards the Social Security/Medicare system.  That's 15.3% of my income each year.  I was shocked when I first saw the rate a couple of decades ago, since as an employee I paid less than half of that.  A little checking led to the realization that my employer paid half of the total amount that needed to be paid, matching my contribution. But I've also read, that employers maintain that if they did not have to pay their portion of the "payroll" taxes they would instantly transfer that money to their employees.

And, if you believe they would actually funnel the money into your paycheck, I've got a brand spanking new Ford Model T to sell you!  But it shows the mindset of the business community, and they probably do take it out of your salary. I know its completely taken out of mine.

So for the years you've worked the government has taken 15.3% of your salary for all intents and purposes for Social Security and Medicare

But for thirty years or more mainstream news media have joined the GOP in proclaiming  that program an "entitlement" like something wholly unearned passed down to you as an inheritance (a windfall that Republicans actually believe you should get in entirety without paying taxes on) and the GOP has acted like it's something you are demanding from poor starving billionaires.

I checked out a while back and found that even 6.2% interest applied to what is taken from only your paycheck for your Social Security alone would make a nice nest egg and keep you living at the same standard of living (as you averaged) for 20 years past your retirement.  And the calculator I used only paid the interest yearly. By paying daily (like money you owe is usually calculated) that number should be a good deal higher.   Social Security payments are not paid out at the amount you were receiving, but substantially less, so you should receive them for substantially longer than 20 years without costing the government anything.

Also, there is the charge that the government doesn't pay out interest on payroll taxes funds because they don't make interest on them.  But if the government avoids higher interest charges because it has the FICA funds sitting around waiting for people to retire, then it is receiving a kind of interest on them most (actually all because you and I are the government of the people, for the people and by the people) of that benefit should be passed on to you.  Also, there is still the employers side of  the SS payments, which, as I said probably are from what you might have once gotten, though I doubt they would ever be returned is the employer contribution disappeared.  That would instantly double your retirement years, so the government should be able to pay you for 40 years of retirement at the average of a years income out of your own funds.  And that's what the GOP and the mainstream news media don't want you to know.  Both of them are selling your rights to the same billionaires and centi-millionaires that are continually using their strings to pay them big interest free loans and providing them fantastic investment opportunities through wars or at least mega military purchases, as well, a prison building and maintenance and even tax cuts for the wealthy that never actually provide better paying jobs for us.

Finally, we should take the employers at their words and calculate double the amount that we actually pay for our Social Security, because I'm sure they do take it from our pay. So we could live 40 years beyond retirement and only take out what we've paid in and at a reasonable interest. Ask politicians where our money is. Did it already disappear into war and tax cuts for the wealthy?
And we need to put to bed the idea that young people pay for older people's retirement.  The numbers show they don't.

Conclusion:

Don't let anyone call your Social Security an "entitlement".  You earned it, you saved it.  It's yours!

But the Republicans want to take it away for tax cuts for fat cats and war.

Here is the compound interest calculator I used for the above calculations.

Videos Show Romney's Anti Gay Agenda & How Big Money Games Scientists, and Buys Politicians, and The News Media Goes Along.

Two Rachel Maddow videos show that anti-gay groups actually gamed a famous scientist that first found that homosexuality was not a disease, so that he published another report expressing a belief that some homosexuals could be cured. Watch these two videos for the complete story.

Note that the scientist now claims he was sent subjects from an anti-gay group that claimed they were cured of being gay, and that he no longer felt confident that the people he talked to were telling the truth. Also the man Rachel talks to was also part of that group. This was an important study, that gave a major boost to anti-gay proselytizing, and the scientist was obviously fooled, but it was all a sham.

What is being described in these videos is like the kind of fascism that created Nazi Germany. Fake science. Yep right there. Major political groups basing their whole meme for the poor on bigotry and racism. Yep. (The rich will go along because the Republicans give them the message not to worry, wealthy people like them will be safe. and the mainstream news system refuses to deal with reality, because they can sell the control of the masses' minds for money to the fat cats.)

This is 1984 and only bits and pieces of this are getting out.

Another news report I recently read said that wealthy supporters of same sex marriage believe that Romney will back their cause, even though if you watch the videos above you know that the Romney's charity actually donates to anti-gay groups.

The Bible says you can only be one way or the other.  I guess Mitt Romney is too wealthy for those silly rules in the Bible.  That's for the rest of us who aren't part of the 1%.

Mitt Rommey is the greatest scam ever put upon Americans.   The only thing he is being honest about is his desire for more military actions in the world.

America had better wake up or we'll be stuck with this man in the White House.

Video: The Lies Behind Kerry Picket's Claim that Clinton's DOJ "Found Out" That Assault Weapons Ban Was Useless

Above you will hear Kerry Picket say something equivalent to "Clinton's DOJ "found out" that the type of weapons banned by the assault weapon law were not the types of guns being used in violent crimes."  I've listened to it three times, but cannot repeat it more as my old computer tends to stall out rapidly under video viewing and I have terrible delay problems already.

I am not up on all weapons and their parts and what are assault weapons or what were defined as such by the Brady Bill, but I'd like to ask if no AKs were ever used in crime, or were they not banned by the bill, or was Ice Tea just fronting when he rapped about them?

But Ms. Pickets statements are obviously so misleading that in essence she is lying (which is probably why she is stuttering so badly in this video. She was sent out to get lies passed on a national show. Some people are not as smooth as the big liars that no one wants to listen to anymore and so they tend to stutter when they play the same right wing game of lying on national television when the host and others can't run to their computers and look things up or otherwise sit and think about what she said and figure out how she's twisted the truth.

But, even if Kerry Picket (@kerrypicket on Twitter) was telling the truth she was cutting it so thin that it wouldn't make an adequate sandwich for a toddler. Possibly the banned guns weren't used in crimes (though she should talk to the LAPD out here who constantly are claiming to be taking banned guns used in crimes off the street). Maybe, the truth is that once the currently banned guns were against the law, new ones were developed that were even more dangerous, as appears to have happened.

Then what should we have done? We should have banned the new, more dangerous guns, but something happened. The GOP realized there was a desperate interest group in the US who depended on buying, trading, and selling guns to fill their wallets and assuage their fears. The GOP also realized they could use this group to gain votes that they could sell to fat cats who wanted tax cuts for the wealthy and more wars to grab other nations' resources at little expense to themselves. So they started wailing about how the Democrats were going to ban guns and that would leave gun buyers at the mercy of those "dark people" or "Commies". I believe it was Ronald Reagan who actually posited that Soviet Russia might come up at us through Nicaragua. Within 4 years of his leaving the White House though, of course, the Soviet Union collapsed due to it's over extension in expansionist wars, a line we started heading towards when the GOP got control in 2001 and is still trying to get back to. So, while gun manufacturers were creating more powerful guns and bigger clips the GOP enforced a ban on banning them and refused to even renew the now whimpy and ineffective Brady bill. But plenty of deaths have been caused by the rejiggered assault weapons and assault level cartridges. After the Virginia Tech massacre people were crying out for banning the sell of large capacity magazines, but the GOP stood in the way. Even before people had worried about them, but they were used over and over again. After the shooting of US Representative Gabby Giffords, and the killing of many others including a Federal District judge and a sweet nine year old girl the cries reached a crescendo, yet the GOP sits back and laughs, and keeps promoting racism and gun ownership. Most of the mass killings in the last 20 years were done by firearms defined by the moniker "assault weapons" from the Columbine killings, to Fort Hood, to Tucson. Josh Sugarman noted just 10 at the Huffington Post, but there have been so many others, the Colorado killings at a missionary school and a mega church, shootings at other schools and shopping centers. Law Enforcement officers agree that without assault weapons people just can't be killed so quickly.  And please don't ignore that we have filled Mexico with so many assault weapons that it is rapidly becoming a failed state, and a place of death and mayhem.

After jsut about everyone of the mass killings in the US, people cry out that the killer just couldn't have murdered so many if there was proper action on banning assault weapons, not just renewing the Brady bill, but keeping up with the new ways that weapons manufacturers push more death out the door to their customers. Next time it might be someone you love that is killed by a random stranger, an ex, or someone convinced that "minorities" or "the majority" have it coming to them and pick up an assault weapon to set things "straight".

Vote for those who will listen to us about our concerns on the wild availability of assault weapons.  Elect people who will not only ban what is available now, but keep up with new designs that skirt the law.

AP: Men Lost More Jobs at the Start of Bush's Great Recession, Women in the Latter Part Because of Demographics, Republican Intransigence.

Nothing left to sell
Cue Depression Music for Mr. R-Money

He delivers BS  that sounds suspiciously like a Karl Rove talking point and as easily disproven.  Even at that though the Associated Press does half a job of debunking it.  The other half would have put Republicans in a bad light.  Mustn't go there, right AP?

Picture above shared using Flickr native coding and allowed by Creative Commons License Attribution 2.0 Generic  (CC BY 2.0).  Rollover to see Flickr name of photographer why has no connection to this blog or blogger.

The AP did a half-baked analysis of Governor Romney's, Karl Rovish assertion that 92.3% of jobs lost under Obama were those held by women. The writer tells us  that condition developed because men bore the brunt of job losses in the first 13 months of the Great Recession that happened before Obama came into office:
Romney's math is solid as far as it goes. But more men than women have lost jobs since the recession began — that's why economists called it a "man-cession."
In blaming Obama for "turning the clock back 20 years on American women," as the Romney campaign puts it, Republicans are hoping to counter Obama's perceived advantage with female voters. But they ignore how recessions generally — and the last one in particular — unfold, and they hold Obama accountable for the state of the economy from the time he took office, before his policies could make any difference.
But the AP report continues
Women were more heavily represented in jobs that suffered in the recession's later months and beyond, as revenue-strapped state and local governments laid off teachers and cut other public-sector workers.
Still, even that, though technically accurate, doesn't show the totality of the real picture.  In fact, after the Republicans grabbed the leadership of the House in the 2010 election and even before they have been working to harm women's employment chances.  First by cutting the stimulus and requiring that much of the package focus on tax cuts.  But later, after they came into power in many states as well as the US House of Representatives by promising more jobs, they instead, in the states, first cut taxes for the wealthy and businesses, and then tried to decimate the public worker sector including in education the cornerstone of progress for Americans.

If you're really strapped for cash you don't take what little money you have and go throw it at the nearest group of millionaires, and then go home, start throwing your family out of the house so you can live in it alone, and afterwards still expect them to look at you as a benevolent leader of the group.  In fact, you would seem a tyrant to them more interested in pleasing fat cats than in taking care of your family, which is actually what the Republican party is all about.  After all Republicans, are reliant on political advertising purchased using the money of the top 1% of businesses and individuals.  This is never aired adequately in the press because the news media depends for its funds on the same wealthy people.

So, less even than the effect of male jobs being lost, jobs women have held in our states and counties were decimated at least twice by Republican governance, once by the recession that took away the good paying jobs for men coupled with Republican intransigence in the US House, and then by the GOP in 2011 which, like we saw in Wisconsin, bumped as many public workers as they could out of jobs because they themselves were sitting in good publicly funded jobs, but saw a better future for themselves as being repaid by the Koch brothers and other like-minded people they court with tax cuts and destruction of state and federal government jobs, most of which had been stable and well paid with benefits which allowed men and women to raise and educate their children in  a little bit of comfort.

And the GOP has forced cuts to the length of time a person can receive unemployment benefits .If a man or woman has to forgo retraining for a type of job that can be held, to support his or her family immediately he or she might have to take a cleaning job at the local market or fast food joint.  One free to work longer at regaining employment could take classes and get a good middle class job that sets his or her family on the path to creating great futures for their kids and a good retirement for themselves.

So, in fact, the GOP has been  the primary culprit in male and female job losses as they cut unemployment benefits, and safety nets.  It is typical though that they then come out and blame Obama for that which the GOP has been actively achieving in their quest to gain total control of the nation so they can sell your rights to a good life for your family to multimillionaires.

Why don't they just put a sign on it.

NOW OWNED BY BAIN CAPITAL.  WORKERS CAN REAPPLY FOR JOBS (AT DRASTICALLY LOWER WAGES} STARTING MONDAY.

That is if they don't just take all of those degraded employment opportunities and outsource them to China anyway.   That would fit right into the Romney/GOP game plan that has actually helping China and the 1% destroy our economy.

Thanks for nothing, GOP.

Scott Walker Failing to Meet Promised Job Creation Goals in Wisconsin #wi #wiunion #ows

Remember when Wisconsin governor Scott Walker promised all those new jobs from his austerity and public union busting measures passed by the creepy Republicans in the state legislature? Well, his state isn't reaching a year's worth of those jobs. In fact the jobs numbers look just like what you'd expect under any austerity program. Cutting debt does not create jobs. Walker might know that if he had completed a college education.

Will #GOP be Tracking, Spying on Registered Republicans Again For 2012 Election?

A new app is bring touted as bring able to keep track of Republicans this election season.

Feeling like a deer in a gunsight yet friend?

Maybe you'd better change to Independent,

This may simply be a continuation of the GOP program of spying on its members to make sure they know how to lie to them best.  That program has been admitted for years.  The party has acknowledged that they keep track of the purchases and interests of their members ( they claim by buying information from credit card suppliers, magazine subscriptions, and the membership lists of interest groups and churches people belong to.).

Such a system allows misleading information to be delivered to party members, whether about morality, the economy, or war.

Master campaigner George W. Bush accomplished much of the same thing when he promised to walk  with more humility in the world, ie not get engaged with conflicts.  The new president  though told his cabinet that he planned to invade Iraq 10 days after he took office (From Ron Suskind's book "The Price of Loyalty" written with information supplied by Paul O'Neill, Bush's first Secretary of the Treasury).  That conflict made Clinton's cooperation with NATO and the UN over the Serbia-Bosnia and Serbia-Kosovo conflicts look like Un dimanche après-midi à l'ÃŽle de la Grande Jatte. No I don't know French myself. The Wikipedia page, linked, supplied that title.

Ron Paul has adopted a similar meme and trumpets his intentions to end all US involvement in military operations, though he also wants to disappear all your Social Security and Medicare funds (that you've put much of your own money into) as well.

Republicans Were For Massive Solyndra Loans Before They Were Against Them !!!

Proven, though the craven reports on this I read in NYT did not have this information.  The George W Bush administration and most of the GOP committee members calling for an investigation of the Solyndra-Obama scandal were the ones who set up the program and approved Solyndra's enrollment in it.   But they won't be letting reality get in their way because they have oily Koch brothers millions supporting as false ad campaign.  So they can let the Koch brothers stop green energy and you can pay $10 a gallon for gasoline, all the while the GOP has already chosen a foreign country's side in a trade war.  China is dumping subsidized solar chips on the American market which ruined Solyndra's ability to sell superior product, and instead of working with the Obama administration on protecting our green energy market, they, like always, want to use it to sell us out, not only to China, but to those who would enslave Americans to Big Oil.

After 911, Thousands of Pests Slipped into US While Gov't Focused on Terrorists

Just months after the GOP got hold of the White House they passed a tax cut for Fat Cats telling us we didn't need the money.
Yet within months we did need the money as we had to decrease our agricultural security for increased scrutiny of our ports of entry for human to Ham terrorists.
Did the Fat Cats give the money back?  Of course not, and the GOP controlled White House and Congress didn't ask them to do so.
The result is shown that agricultural terrorists (though not human) slipped into the US and started harming our nation.
Stop the wars? Tax the wealthy to fight the pests at the ports of entry?
Not while Republicans controlled Congress and the White House!
An AP report show that Homeland Security only started ramping up inspections in 2007 and also cites Congress members behind the effort to push ramped up inspections that got border agricultural security back to a decent level
I think its safe to say that Democrats in charge of Congress is the best for agriculture.  Too bad that after so many years of total GOP control it was too late for many farmers and agricultural products.
Farmers and people who like healthy food and ecosystems should notify their Congress members and tell them they will be watching to see of they are really protecting our crops from foreign pests and diseases
Otherwise they'll be voting them out.
Just in case though, I'd stick with the party that brought sanity back to Homeland Security in keeping our nation and it's food supply safer.
Oil companies have gotten major supply contracts from the war on Iraq.  Other fat cats are still hoping for access to the trillion dollars worth of rare earths and valuable minerals in Afghanistan from the Bush White House's wars.
All farmers got from the Republicans being in total control of thr nation was decreased security, and more problems for all their work and support of the GOP.
See link below for report on how post 911 response by the GOP left agricultural security out to dry.

GOP Moves to Block New Safety Reforms On Pipelines

Along Corniche Area, Doha, Qatar... with City Center far back
Another Waterfront. This one's in Quatar.
Nice, but I hope they don't have dangerous pipelines lurking there, too.
Picture used via Creative Commons license. Rollover to see photographer's name. Click to go to original site.

Isn't it funny how we were just talking about the San Bruno fire yesterday, and then it is learned that Congressional GOP members want to block new legislation that would help ensure our pipelines are safe? Actually, no it's not. As regulators started drawing up new safety measures, I'm sure that PG&E called up every Congress member they could think of to whine and complain, and promise to donate to his or her campaign if he or she DID SOMETHING TO STOP NEW REGULATIONS! And so we have a GOP measure to make inspections and other safety measures less likely. I'd like anyone who votes for that package to go to San Bruno and explain their actions to the survivors. You owe them at least that. Read GOP gas pipeline bill would block safety reforms

Thank Republicans for Thursday's Market Meltdown

The market lost hope that Congress would do anything to help the economy today thanks to the chokehold the Republicans have on any stimulus chances.

Mitt Romney Accuses Waitress(es) of Grabbing A*

In a disgusting show Romney pretended that one of the waitresses with which he was posing grabbed his a** (or maybe it was supposedly all of them).

This is more unnerving than Anthony Weiner's sexting because it was not a consensual virtual s*x act, but one made up by Romney and then falsely blamed on the women. It was also very public.

One podcast source I heard said this is actually a regular thing with Romney, as insiders know.

And yet the news media and Republicans pretend that this is okay.
