Now There's Proof: Stricter Gun Laws = Fewer Gun Deaths

Great News!  There is proof that stricter gun control works to reduce gun deaths.
Tell your state and local officials

From NBC report:  Fewer gun deaths in states with most gun laws, study finds
"It seems pretty clear: If you want to know which of the states have the lowest gun-mortality rates just look for those with the greatest number of gun laws," said Dr. Eric W. Fleegler of Boston Children's Hospital who, with colleagues, analyzed firearm-related deaths reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2007 through 2010.
By scoring individual states simply by the sheer volume of gun laws they have on the books, the researchers noted that in states with the highest number of firearms measures, their rate of gun deaths is collectively 42 percent lower when compared to states that have passed the fewest number of gun rules. The study was published online in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine.

Your representatives in state and federal government need to hear from you, because, otherwise, the loudest voices they are going to be hearing from are the Gun Manufactuers and gun biz lobbyist, Wayne La Pierre.

You can find out how to contact your Representative to the US House and your two federal Senators in this post.  ( I know, that portion should be a post in itself, but I don't have time right now.)  Check out state and local government sites for more regional representation, try even city venues for keeping gun trafficking under control.

Neo Nazi Murderer, Illegally Posessing Fire Arms, Was Tracking Officials

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

New details about the case of Richard Schmidt, the owner of a sporting goods store in Bowling Green, Ohio,  dramatically highlight what law enforcement officials say are major loopholes in the nation’s gun laws. Schmidt, 47, is a convicted felon who spent 13 years in Ohio state prison for a homicide after being convicted of killing a man and wounding two others in a shooting during a traffic stop, according to state prison records.  Under federal law, Schmidt, who was released on parole in 2003, is barred from possessing any firearms.

Yet when FBI agents last December searched his home and store, they discovered a cache of 18 weapons that included AR-15 assault rifles, 9 mm Ruger and Sig Sauer pistols, shotguns, high-capacity magazines and more than 40,000 rounds of ammunition...

Kudos to you Wayne La Pierre.  Your valiant efforts are endangering those who protect us and run our communities.

Hitler and His Nazis Did Not Take Away Guns. Other Lies Debunked.

The allegation repeated by gun afficianados that Hitler and the Nazis took away the guns if the citizens of Germany are false.

According to reports Wayne La Pierre has said:

“In Germany, Jewish extermination began with the Nazi Weapon Law of 1938, signed by Adolf Hitler.”
and
"In Germany, firearm registration helped lead to the holocaust," leaving citizens "defenseless against tyranny and the wanton slaughter of a whole segment of its population."
In fact, de facto personal gun prohibition was imposed on Germany with the help of the Weimar Republic government by the allies who had lost so many of their own citizens in World War 1.

In fact,  the Nazi loosened the restrictions and the famous 1938 law. completely, except for Jewish people and others that the Nazis wanted to control and hinder.   The Jew's weakness was not their lack of fire power, but the previous years of targeting for discrimination and harm.

So yes, the Jews could not fight back, but the Russians lost over 7 million men fighting the various armed Nazi military groups with all the weapons at their disposal.  And in the fight for the Warsaw ghetto, in Poland, where the Jews did have guns, only 20 German soldiers were killed while over 60,000 thousand Jews were killed on site or shipped off to the camps. Gun ownership solved nothing and saved no one.

Salon article The Hitler gun control lie  also debunks the Stalin gun control myth as well.

I also used a quote and general understanding from Mother Jones article Was Hitler Really a Fan of Gun Control?

Yes, La Pierre and others cite other societies.   But fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.  And there is ample evidence that the NRA real agenda is to help gun sellers make more money, not the safety and well being of our citizens, even our children.  In the meantime their followers and repeaters are even scaring law enforcement in pro gun states.  If Tennessee takes away your gun permits, you've seriously jumped the shark, friends.

BTW, there is a good reason that all our American World of Warcraft players are not out there using dark magic to kill when they get mad at people, or pissed over their loser lives, or whatever.  Nor are the Japanese going out and killing lots of people with guns though they play many of the same games and their movies and anime are even more violent.  The weapons they admire on the screen and use in games are just not available to the general public.  Curiously, though, Assassin Creed players aren't hoarding swords and scimitars, so maybe there is something going on that promotes gun ownership and use.  Right, Mr. La Pierre?

Lawrence O'Donnell's First Word on Wayne La Pierre's Friday Speech.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I have no words left for how creepy La Pierre is, but his salary is more than 99.94% of Americans. That is what he is protecting, not you. O'Donnell has other things to say about La Pierre's creepy cash cow.

Data on Wayne La Pierre's income classification

I used Think Progress report on how many Americans make over $1 m per year from late Oct 2011,  I had severe trouble finding what meager percent earned that amount last week when I was trying to write a post on John Boehner's proposal to only raise taxes on those making over $1 million a year so I jumped on the TP report's data.  I also used info from BLS.gov on Nov 2011 summary report for size of the civilian work force and from Wikipedia on the size of the US military in 2010 to add the non civilian work force.

A good short URL for this is http://x.co/r7nn

Things Bill @Bill_Lenner and I @CA_Lady tweeted today (besides auto send from posting today's posts here and at tumblr.

It's only $35 a year to join NRA That's a magazine subscription and gigantic sign saying "Spam Me with Gun Ads!" not a real non profit.
Info on the above came from the NRA website as I accessed it this morning.

The #NRA is the desperate "cheap date" of nonprofits.

Wayne La Pierre's $1m/yr salary is more than the earnings of 99.94% of Americans' That's what he's really protecting. x.co/r7nn

I heard years ago that the#NRA was throwing life memberships at NRA members who were driven away by their new r/w cow piles. Sry no link

RE twitter.com/KathrynBruscoB…Good idea. Put a teacher in every gun store, one fully versed in teaching common sense, and shut it down...

Aspergers syndrome is not a dangerous mental illness, but Schizophrenia often emerges in late teens early 20s. #newtown shooting

(I Hope we weren't too ignorant on that.  I'm just tired of hearing that the Aspergers made Adam Lanza kill those kids .)

I've seen gun lockers going for $150 even in affluent So California. If a person buys a $700 gun they can buy a gun locker or they shld wait
