There are allegations that Sanford Police have been slackers in investigating attacks on minorities in Sanford Florida, a town with only one black community representative.

This is not the only time that investigations of killings and other misuse of black men don't seem to have been well done.

Incidents from beatings to murder appear to have been poorly investigated, or reviewed with the eye to save embarrassment or heavy punishment to family members or one of their own.

In an earlier article I read that the Zimmerman clan wrote a letter to the sister of Sherman Ware in the first linked article claiming that George had earlier stood up for her brother and had passed out leaflets trying to get blacks to demand justice in his case.  The Zimmermans and their attorneys provided some examples of such leaflets, but nothing was determined about the truthfulness of the claims, and no one seems to have noticed.

See a recounting of the problems of the current investigation and earlier problematic ones:

I have a problem with that, because the danger of shaking a baby are actually pretty specific to childhood and upon searching I found an Australian government site that explains:

A baby’s brain is very fragile.
It is softer and moves around
inside the skull more than an
older child or adult’s brain.

See Never Shake a Baby.

I'm sure with more searching I could find similar advice on many other websites.   It was a common theme when I was raising my children.  Baby's brains are much more fragile than those of adults.  It's rather sad that a full grown man should try to co-opt the tenderness of the baby's head structure to justify killing a teen.

I still say it would help a lot if they change the name of the city to Trayvon, Florida.  It would even be carried on the Police cars there, and always be a reminder that their are limits to the Stand Your Ground laws.
